They can be donated to help the Belleville General Hospital Foundation fight the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, hospital officials suggest.

Throughout July, The Beer Store will raise funds through empty bottle returns as well as donations from loyal customers, the foundation said on Wednesday.

Foundation Executive Director Steve Cook said, “We are very grateful to the employees of the local beer stores who have chosen our community hospital as the recipient of the donations. We also love the support of the community to make their donations. “

Beer Store representatives said, “We are grateful to the amazing hospitals and community organizations that are helping Ontario get through COVID-19. We recognize the tremendous effort your organization is putting into supporting your community in these extraordinary times. At The Beer Store, we believe we have a responsibility to give back to our communities across the province.

The BGHF has been selected by a group of employees from some local retail stores as the charity of choice for this month. Belleville, Madoc, Marmora, Northbrook and Tweed beer stores will accept donations for BGHF.
